We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve MealPrepAI's features and services
• Process and analyze your fridge photos to identify ingredients
• Generate personalized recipe recommendations based on your preferences
• Track your nutrition and cooking statistics
• Send you notifications about expiring ingredients and meal reminders
• Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
• Send you technical notices, updates, and administrative messages

When you scan your fridge or pantry:

• Photos are securely transmitted to our servers using industry-standard encryption
• Our AI analyzes the image to identify food items and ingredients
• Photos are stored in your scan history so you can review past scans
• You can delete any scan and its associated photo at any time
• We do not use your photos for advertising or share them with third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service Providers: Companies that help us operate our service (cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing)
• Family Sharing: If you enable family sharing, your meal plans and grocery lists are shared with your family group
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3
• Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256
• We use secure cloud infrastructure provided by Google Cloud Platform
• Regular security audits and penetration testing
• Employee access to user data is strictly limited and logged

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services:

• Account information is kept until you delete your account
• Scan history is retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted
• Cooking statistics are aggregated and anonymized after 24 months
• When you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 30 days

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
• Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt-out: Disable marketing communications at any time

MealPrepAI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
